Job Description
Our client is seeking a utility/streetscape foreman to run a water and sewer crew. Our client is a full-service excavation / utility / electrical contractor located in Newington, CT. They have served the state, municipalities, local utility companies, contractors, and developers for the past 20+ years.
Responsibilities
· Oversee MDC water and sewer installation (MDC experience preferred but not required)
· Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
· Excavate for new utilities – water main, sewer main, drainage, electrical conduits
· Work safely and have knowledge of proper excavation techniques within the roadway
· Basic knowledge of plan reading, grades, pipe lasers
· Cleanliness and general housekeeping for a construction site
· Take instruction and follow through in assigned objectives
Qualifications
· 5+ years of utility experience
· Hoisting license / certification preferred but not required
· OSHA trained or able to be trained within 30 days
· High school diploma / GED preferred
· Clean Drug / Background screening upon hiring
· Knowledge of construction safety and heavy equipment
· Valid driver’s license
