Summary:
Our client is a General Contracting company who has become a leader in the civil/heavy construction sector in their 150+ years in business. They specialize in areas such as pile driving, marine work, concrete work, site work, deep excavations, utilities, underground electrical duck banks, large vaults, sewer & water supply, bridge repairs, power plant work, and DOT work. They are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team in Branford, CT.
Responsibilities:
· Researching projects out for bid
· Doing prequalification submittals, schedules and other submittals required for bidding
· Taking off work from plans and estimating projects
· Assist with proposals for modifications
· Assist Sr managers in other areas such as Project Management
· 90% office, 10% field duties
Qualifications:
· 8 to 10 years of construction industry experience, including work in the field as a PM or Superintendent
· Heavy and marine construction experience
· 5 years of estimating experience
· Experience estimating projects in the $5-7 million range
· Ability to work in office 8am to 5pm, M-F
· Good computer skills
