Position Overview: Electrical Estimator (New Haven, Connecticut)
The Electrical Estimator based in New Haven, Connecticut, will play a pivotal role in accurately pricing materials and labor through effective takeoff methods, enabling the company to provide precise and competitive job bids for various projects. Experience with traffic control systems is a huge plus.
Responsibilities:
· Comprehensive Takeoff and Bid Preparation: Read and comprehend job plans and specifications to create thorough and accurate takeoff. Utilize the information from the takeoff to develop precise bids for electrical construction projects.
· Post-Bid Follow-up: Engage in post-bid interactions with clients. Negotiate scope and pricing details, offer value engineering insights, and make scope modifications when necessary for project success.
· Collaboration with Construction Team: Collaborate closely with the construction team during the budgeting and project initiation stages. Maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
· Concurrent Project Estimation: Ability to prepare estimates for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate bid submissions.
Qualifications:
Relevant Experience: Several years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably with Traffic Control systems
Software Proficiency: Proficient in using Estimating, Excel, and Access software programs for accurate and efficient bid calculations.
-Design/Build Acumen: Prior experience in design/build projects is advantageous.
High Adaptability: Capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment without compromising accuracy.
Exceptional Customer Service: Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide a high level of customer service.
