Director of Product Marketing

Our client is headquartered in San Francisco, CA. This position is open to a remote employee based across the US.

They are a fully integrated subscription management and recurring billing platform that plugs seamlessly into any front-end experience. Providing deep insights across the customer lifecycle without custom engineering or added plugins. Brands that use them have a holistic view of customers, allowing for more personalization and easy optimization, operational efficiency, and the ability to accelerate their speed to market.


About The Role
They are creating a new role that aligns with eCommerce Experience Management. You will play a pivotal role in defining the product category and growing the company by doing! This is not a "visionary role" it's a role for doers. 

Their platform takes an ambitious strategy with R&D and they integrate a set of core functionality from a broad set of existing product categories -- PIM, DAM, CMS, ETL, OMS, syndication, etc. -- going deep into many specific areas, subsuming entire categories, such as PIM.

How do we define the product category of the company? We need to understand how it relates to the rest of the evolving cloud-based, modern enterprise SaaS companies. How do we position our role in each of the existing categories that we touch as we compare to pure plays? In close partnership with product, help the industry understand where we sit in relation to the myriad other technologies manufacturers are using on the digital shelf today. What should our partner strategy be for complementary technology? How can our technology make everyone in the community successful, including SIs, agencies, retailers, and tech partners?

The Director of Product Marketing owns answering these questions and many more. More than simply answering the questions, the Director of Product Marketing also must build and lead a team that operationalizes the answers to them, empowering the whole company and industry.

You'll Enjoy This Role If You Have

·       Substantial experience in SaaS based eCommerce platforms -- we have a consultative and not "transactional" sales motion

·       Lead a global product marketing and/or solution marketing function, particularly for a "system of record and workflow" platform

·       Product passion. We're a product-centric company with a large product vision, and need a marketer that loves getting into the details for our customers, since the details matter

·       Participated in category creation in SaaS, or worked for a category leader

·       A track record of proactively defining what success looks like for your role and the rest of the company and then driving it -- we do not wait to be told what to do! Just do it!

·       Experience managing to outcomes, not projects

·       Enjoyed, and still enjoy, rolling up your sleeves and building a pivotal function from the ground up -- we lead by example in the marketing department.
