The Director of Business Development is responsible for creating new business opportunities within our target market sectors in the Greater Phoenix area. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining a business development plan that meets the company’s short and long-term goals. The Director of Business Development will partner with the executive team, Preconstruction and Marketing to execute the plan, by generating leads and closing sales in the greater Phoenix market. 


  • Establish initial contact at the owner level with potential customers to identify project opportunities
  • Qualify leads and maintain contact with key relationships that lead to new bidding opportunities
  • Leverage existing relationships within the commercial construction industry to identify project opportunities 
  • Stay up to date on trends and be informed of opportunities that position the Company to be included in RFPs
  • Actively work to promote the Company’s capabilities and construction solutions that result in new contracts and closed business 
  • Participate in industry trade shows and other related networking opportunities 


  • 5+ years technical sales experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • 5+ years B2B lead generation and qualification experience 
  • Established relationships within the commercial construction industry
  • New business development and consultative selling experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and driven by results
  • Ability to track, monitor and maintain a sales pipeline using a CRM database
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel (50% of time) within the greater Phoenix area
  • 4-year business degree, or related experience
