Manager, Sales & Marketing

*Hybrid role, office near Chicago, IL*

Our client began as a start-up in 2007 in the Greater Chicago area. They’re a subsidiary of a German-based company founded over 40 years ago, who has grown to team of 500+ employees in 13 locations worldwide. They seek a Manager, Sales & Marketing who will cover North America, developing new business partnerships while enhancing current customer relationships.

Their Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a market leading solution for recording and processing Production, Quality Management and Human Resources data. Additionally, their Manufacturing Integration Platform (MIP) and Advanced Planning and Scheduling System use state-of-the-art technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to help their 1,400+ clients maximize production. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional creative, analytical, and business development skills.

Responsibilities:

·        Lead and manage a designated functional Sales and Marketing team and have your own sales responsibility. You are both a mentor and a leader to Sales & Marketing

·        Be a USA company liaison between prospects, customers, and partners 

·        Establish and maintain comprehensive, results-oriented sales and marketing strategies and optimize processes in cooperation with your team

·        Define the integrated marketing campaign with a balanced mix of promotional actions to achieve the desired company branding

·        Generate business opportunities through effective company branding and marketing promotions and professional, dedicated prospecting 

·        Provide a significant impact to winning customers and developing partnerships in an international environment, as well as intensifying existing relationships

·        Build a sales plan to provide integrated software and service solutions to meet prospect and existing customer needs as a strategic business partner

·        Drive all aspects of marketing including communications, advertising, sales promotion, events, workshops, trade shows, etc

·        Drive all aspects of the sales cycle including, proposals, scoping, pricing, and contract negotiations, etc

·        Develop proven metrics and reporting to drive the team to achieve success with our current and prospective customers

·        Ensure compliance with policies and regulations

 

Qualifications:

·        BA/BS or equivalent experience

·        Experience in sales management; must have a history of hiring, training, and motivating high performance sales and marketing teams

·        Experience with creative marketing and branding, including overseeing the creation, implementation, and messaging of our brand through appropriate channels

·        Experience in business-to-business sales, including prospecting, relationship management and closing complex deals for consulting-intense software solutions in the manufacturing industry, preferably in industrial automation, manufacturing/logistics IT – especially at the executive level

·        Strong technology skills, familiarity with value-added processes in the manufacturing industry and the digitization needs of manufacturing companies 

·        Strategic thinking skills, a high level of empathy and a good sense for the expectations on your employees, prospects, and customers

·        Excellent oral and written communications skills including strong presentation/demo skills both in person and via phone/web presentation

·        Positive, creative, and enthusiastic, you think quickly on your feet and adapt easily to change

·        Result oriented and focused on promoting and driving sales, maintaining an awareness of current and new products to achieve success with our prospects and customers

·        Strong sense of ambition, self-motivation, and self-discipline

·        Great leaders are masters of communication

·        Professionalism in personality, appearance, and work product

·        Bilingual (English & Spanish or English & German) is a plus
